Peregian Beach
What is hypnosis?
What will hypnosis do for you?
Why should you use Peregian HypnosisAs a long term professional counselor and mature aged person operating from a professional clinic – I can provide a relaxed, comfortable but professional and confidential environment for dealing with the change you would like to bring about. Life skills allow me to understand the issues that impact on you as a client. Some Interesting details:A survey of psychotherapy literature by Alfred A. Barrios, Ph.D. revealed the following recovery rates; Psychoanalysis : 38% after 600 sessions Behaviour Therapy: 72% after 22 sessions Hypnotherapy 93% recovery after 6 sessions. Weight Loss:Having successfully lost 20 kg myself through hypnosis – I have a great deal of empathy with anyone working their way through the diet maze. Diets won’t work – I have tried every possible program and only changing my attitude through hypnosis has resulted in the weight loss. And I have lost this weight while experiencing a significant problem with a thyroid condition which causes weight gain. My weight loss program can work when nothing else will – and it will set you free from a lifetime obsession with dieting. I am living proof of this Hypnosis for Weight Loss: Did you know that there is three different types of eater:
Emotional eaters are people who eat food because of emotions such as stress, worry, loneliness, boredom, frustration, companionship, reward, punishment, or forany other emotion that is manifested in eating foods.
A conditioned eater is a person who eats foods because of early childhood conditioning, such as the child that was made to feel guilty if they left anything on their plate because people were starving in other countries - or that child who was motivated to eat everything on their plate in order to get the dessert. Conditioned eaters are in the millions.
A subconscious eater is a person who is unaware of all the food that they are putting into their mouths, watching a movie and eating a whole bag of popcorn or a litre of ice cream, or the person who is continuously snacking at work at the lolly basket on the desk and is not aware of how much they are eating throughout the day. A subconscious eater is an automatic eater and is not aware of their over-eating habit. Hypnosis is a great tool to help you get fitter, improve your eating patterns and help you lose the weight that you want to lose. We can help you with the programming in the unconscious part of your mind but you need to take responsibility for your conscious. My particular program involves no dieting or deprivation but allows you to think and act like a thin person. All the most recent research indicates that diets just don’t work and a high percentage of weight loss accrued through dieting – results in more significant weight gain in the long term. This is because of the cycle of deprviation caused by diets. In the short term – the person loses weight but in the long term, the appetite is stimulated by the person feeling deprived, causing the person to eat more. In the meantime, the low calorie diet has caused the metabolism to slow down resulting in weight gain with less food. With my particular program of hypnotherapy for weight loss – changes will be permanent and for life. Attitudes to food are changed. Clients learn to stop when they’ve had enough, leave some food on their plate each meal, eat mindfully, make each meal a celebration, eat only when hungry but eat only what they love. How much does it cost: Weight loss is best done over a six session program which costs $550.00. However it is effective over a three week program $350.00. Good results can also be achieved in one session $150.00 but follow up is not given With the first two programs – two CD’s are given for ongoing repetition and application. With the single session – one CD is given. Conscious and Subconscious Mind – how it works: The mind is split up into two parts – the conscious and unconscious parts. The conscious part is very logical and rational and makes your decisions on a day to day basis. Your willpower is there as long as you remember to use it. This part of the mind can think of several things at once but can only concentrate on doing one task at a time. It’s a very slow part of the mind. We get stressed out because we try to do too many things at once and the conscious mind can’t do it. We like to think that it’s the conscious mind that is in control – but it’s not. It’s the unconscious part of the mind that’s in control. For example you don’t think about breathing, bloody circulation, heart beat etc because the unconscious is the auto pilot for your body. It’s running the body 24 hours a day. It is the unconscious which tells you when you’re hungry and how you feel. This part of the mind can do many things at once and whilst it is running the body it is also taking in two million pieces of information every second, passing on what it thinks is important and disregarding the rest. For example – picture this scenario: you buy a new car and the next day you’re driving down the road. Now it seems like every other car is the same as yours. They even seem to be the same colour. You never realized how many similar cars there were. Now - did everyone go and buy a new car the same time as you. No - of course not. Though the unconscious mind noticed all these cars the day before you bought your car, it did not pass the information on, because it didn’t think it was important. But now you’ve this new car and it seems important to you and now it passes the information on every time it sees one similar. Also, the unconscious holds your memories all the way back to childhood though you can’t consciously always recall them. However, a song might come on the radio, and all of a sudden you can remember who you were with, what you were doing, even what you were wearing. Similarly, when someone asks you a question and you know, you know, the answer but you can’t recall it . You say – “It’s on the tip of my tongue”– and you scramble back in your mind trying to find the answer, but you can’t get it. Often it happens five minutes later that you recall the answer when it pops into your mind, when it’s too late. Unconscious Mind and Emotions: Also in the unconscious are your emotions. For example, you don’t think – “I’ve been in a good mood for the last seven days – I’m going to wake up in a bad mood tomorrow”. All your emotions are controlled by the unconsctious. Also in the unconscious is your imagination which is very powerful. You’ve probably had dreams or nightmares before when you’ve woken up shaking, sweating and your heart pounding – yet you haven’t been anywhere – you’re still in bed. This is because the unconscious part of the mind does not know the difference between something real or imagined. As far as your unconscious mind is concerned – it’s actually happening. Imagination and hypnosis: We are going to use your imagination in hypnosis, because if you imagine that it is going to be easy to get to your goal weight (or give up smoking) – then you’re right. But if you imagine it’s going to be difficult you are also right. If you imagine it’s going to be easy – your unconscious will start the ball rolling and make it easy for you. You need to stay positive and then your unconscious will stay positive and automatically make the changes necessary to achieve your goals. Habits: The unconscious mind is where all our habits are stored. A habit is something you do consciously a number of times and then the unconscious will take it on for you as a habit. The unconscious part of the mind knows that you can only consciously concentrate on doing one task at a time – so the more jobs the unconscious can do on your behalf, the better. Our life is full of habits – most of them we are not even aware of. Driving is habit. When you first started to drive you drove consciously but now you don’t have to think about it. Swimming, riding a bike, reading, walking are all habits. The problem is the unconscious doesn’t know the difference between a good or a bad habit. The unconscious is protecting these habits – it doesn’t want you to forget to drive as you drive down the road or forget to swim while swimming a river. Hypnosis and habits: How does hypnosis affect habits: There is no magic trick or waving of a magic wand with hypnosis, it’s just a way of getting you to relax – and because you are relaxed, we can talk directly to the unconscious – the part that’s in control. Because we are talking to the unconscious we can re-record an “up to date” memory and remove all your bad habits that have got you to where you are today, and we can replace them with the new habits required to achieve what you want in life. Also – the primary function of the unconscious is to protect you. We know this because if you stop out onto the road and there is a car coming, you will jump back. Without even thinking about it you’ll get out of the way. The unconscious is there to protect you. So it will support you in implementing your new health habits in the same way. Hypnosis:
